Delighted and surprised to find that my artwork is supporting Great Big Green Week.
Great Big Green Week is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of climate change and will help to challenge and discover new ways of tackling the crisis. Running from 18 -26 September, it will be the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. Thousands of events will celebrate how communities are taking action to tackle climate change, protect green spaces, and encourage others to get involved.
The week takes place ahead of the forthcoming ‘COP26’ Climate Conference in Glasgow and will send a strong emergency message to UK politicians and UN world leaders that action is needed now. Oxfordshire Great Big Green Week in association with Oxfordshire COP26 Climate Alliance are organising 8 days of events. As part of the campaign, Modern Art Oxford is encouraging local communities to visit and get lost in the natural setting of #SignSymbolSound, an online exhibition where artists, including myself, worked in response to the Lye Valley Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Research.
